translated in English with the original Russian
The sea is near the house.
We keep our eyes open,
clouds pass through the sky.
You put a window on the air,
it stands up on its own.
On the other side of the window,
night slowly falls,
full of screams and fires.
Рядом с домом находится море.
Мы держим глаза открытыми,
облака проходят по небу.
Ты кладёшь окно в воздух,
оно стоит само по себе.
По ту сторону окна
медленно наступает ночь,
полная криков и пожаров.

What was your process for creating this work?
The process of creating this work is very complicated. First I should mention that I have a mental block writing in my native language, French, because the words seem deprived of any depth to me. So the images of the poem were visualised rather than written, the first draft was in French, then conveyed to Russian, the French was deleted, then I went from Russian to English. In this way the poem does not belong to any language anymore.
What is the significance of the form/genre you chose for this work?
My work in general, and so this one, try to catch some kind of abstraction with the pattern of mental images which are not connected together, I can guess that the "hidden meaning" between these images has nothing to do with what they actually show. The process here is to hide once again, and thus maybe reveal something else that I am not fully aware of.
What is the significance of this work to you?
This work reminds me a song in Russian, some girl sang it on YouTube, it was about the second world war and she was speaking to her lover, and she was asking him if he remembered the old abandoned house where they used to dance together, as through the window one could see gulls flying in circles, it was a very sad and romantic song.
